Spicy bubbly mozzarella fries with harissa ketchup

 

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1 bag frozen fries (or homemade)
  • 3 tbsp (or more) Miyoko's pourable mozzarella
  • 1 jalapeno or serrano chili, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp thinly sliced chives
  • 1 tbsp pickled onion
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp harissa (more to taste) 

WHAT YOU DO

  1. Cook the french fries according to the instructions on the bag. They should be cooked and not soggy, but not overly toasted, as we will cook them again.
  2. While the fries cook, combine the ketchup and harissa. Taste and add more harissa or ketchup as desired.
  3. Pile the fries on a quarter sheet tray. Pour the mozzarella over the fries. Bake at 450 F for 5-10 minutes, until the mozzarella is bubbling and toasting in some areas. Top with chives, chili, pickled onions, and harissa ketchup. Serve immediately.
